Today I have a belated birthday card, featuring Lawn Fawn, for those times when you either forgot, or as in my case, was just too sick to get the card out on time! Yes, I caught one of the nasty flu strains floating around this season; no fun, I tell you! But I had this card in my head the entire time, so I was so happy this weekend when I could finally find the time to sit down and make it! I paired new and old Lawn Fawn (LF) sets for this card: Hang in There stamp set and coordinating die set, Year Two stamp set and coordinating die set. The LF die sets used for this card are Simple Stitched Hillside, Outside In Stitched Scalloped Rectangle Stackables, and their Stitched Rectagle Small Stackables and the Large set. I used LF’s Jet Black Ink for all the stamping; this ink is so dark and crisp, and perfect for coloring with Copic Markers. Then I used LF’s Mermaid Ink pad and my Ranger Mini Round Ink Blending Tool to create the background sky. The patterned paper comes from LF’s 6×6 Perfectly Plaid Chill paper pack. The sequins are Pretty Pink Posh’s 3mm and 4mm Sparkling Clear Cupped Sequins. Thanks for stopping by! Have a GREAT WEEK, and Happy Crafting!
When I saw this new Valentine’s Day kit from My Favorite Things (MFT), I fell in love (hee hee, “fell in love”, get it? OK, bad pun); it was a great kit for this upcoming special day, and unfortunately it is sold out and they will not be restocking it. HOWEVER, you can still buy the products in it separately! I have them all listed in my Products List at the end of this post. I’ve made 4 cards from this kit so far, and I brought in a few MFT Birdie Brown pet stamp & die sets to personalize 3 of the cards to the recipients and their pet(s). All of the colored images are colored with Copic Markers. The first one is for my mom & my step-dad, and their sweet dog, Ellie. I picked the BB You Make My Tail Wag stamp set and die set to feature this sweet and silly doggy: The second card features my brother’s and his wife’s 2 kitties, Tiggo & Kinley. These 2 cute cat images come from the BB I Knead You stamp set and die set: And for my dad & my step-mom, here is their card featuring their sibling kitty-cats, Hayden & Mac. This kitty image is from the MFT BB Cool Cat stamp set and die set: The last card doesn’t have any pets on it, but is just as cute! I hope you have a great Valentine’s Day, and Happy crafting!
Wow, it’s been over a couple months since my last post! I started a fantastic new job 3 months ago, and I think that took up every ounce of energy I had; but NOW, I have settled in VERY nicely (and LOVING this new job!) and my creative bug has arisen once again (thankfuly! I missed it!). Last week I was looking around the Simon Says Stamp Lawn Fawn section, and I noticed this set that had somehow escaped me – the Sewn with Love stamp and die set. There was no question about it; I HAD to have it. My mom is an avid sewer, and it will be perfect for a bunch of cards for her (or maybe to make a set of cards with and give to her as a present)! For today’s card, I decided to make a “just because” card. Now that we live almost 4 hours apart (since I moved a year ago), I think she’d definitely like this one. The images are stamped with my new Jet Black ink by Lawn Fawn (OMG, this color is AMAZING, stamps perfectly, and colors beautifully with Copics). The cute plaid paper is from Lawn Fawn’s orginal Perfectly Plaid 6×6 paper pack; I cant find it anywhere on-line for purchase, Lawn Fawn Rainbow Cardstock collection. I die cut the plaid paper with the largest die in the Lawn Fawn Outside In Stitched Scalloped Rectangle Stackables set. I painted the word “Sew” with my Zig Clear Wink of Stella, then covered it in Glossy Accents to really give it “pop”. My adhesives on this project consist of my favorite tape runner, MyStick Adhesive, 3D Foam Squares to pop a couple of the images up higher than the others, and Tombow Mono Liquid Glue to glue some of the smaller elements down. I hope you enjoyed ths project! Thanks for stopping by, and have a wonderful week!
OK, I am really getting into this Reverse Confetti thing! DriveByCrafts, I think you have really started something here! Today I am featuring Merry Christmoose; this holiday card is 4 3/4″ square. I stamped the background trees onto Copic-friendly paper, then stamped them again onto masking paper. I cut them out, covered up my trees in the scene, and created the background sky using Distress inks. Then I colored the trees. For the moose, I stamped him, colored him, and hand-cut him out with a white border. I have to admit something… when I went to stamp the cute sign image in the set, it was GONE! Yes, I had taken it out earlier, and somehow I lost it. I have looked EVERYWHERE (and went through my FULL crafting garbage can piece-by-piece, AND crawled around on my crafting room floor for a long time meticulously looking everywhere – ugh!), and it is lost. So, the cute scene on this card can still be adorable without the sign, but image how great it would look WITH it! So, my advice for you today is DON’T TAKE STAMP IMAGES OUT OF THEIR PACKAGING UNTIL YOU’RE READY TO USE THEM! LOL, thanks for stopping by!
I’m so excited to share this fun new stamp set with you by Taylored Expressions (TE)! I’m guest designing for them this month, and if you haven’t seen the Sneak Peek days, head over to their blog! This stamp & die combo set is called If Snowmen Could Talk; I made a standard A2 size card, and I was having so much fun with the different faces that I made a mini card, also. I stamped the snowmen in Copic-friendly ink, and colored them with my Copic Sketch markers. For the background skies, I used a stencil I made, rubbed Tumbled Glass Distress ink onto the paper with my Mini Ink Blending Tool – easy peasy! The great frames that say Happy Holidays and Merry are made using the Picture Perfect Vertical die set. I painted Zig Clear Wink of Stella on both snowmens’ buttons. What fun these 2 cards were to make! And this stamp set has so many other cute faces to choose from, along with great sentiments! Thank you for stopping by, and you can see the entire October Release here!
I just love participating in The Daily Marker‘s 30 Day Color Challenge! Not only does it give me a great excuse to do a little coloring every day for 30 days straight, it then leaves me with a bunch of colored images that are then ready to be used at any time! That’s how this project for today started – I had 2 Mama Elephant stamp sets entirely colored and die cut, so I decided to make Halloween cards with them! The stamp & die sets I used are the Meowlloween stamp set and coordinating die set, and the Meowlloween Extras stamp & die set. The grass is die cut using the shorter grass die from the My Favorite Things (MFT) Grassy Fields die set, and the fence is die cut using the MFT Farm Fence die set. The scalloped frame is from Pretty Pink Posh’s Scallop Frame die set. And the last die I used was for the outer rectangle cut; that was the largest die from th Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Stackables Rectangles die set. The background sky is created by blending Dusty Concord Distress Ink and Black Soot Distress Ink onto Watercolor Cardstock with my Ink Blending Tools; I used Squeezed Lemonade for the moon. The adorable Halloween paper all come from Doodlebug’s October 31st 6×6 paper pad.
I stamped the sentiment on the imside with Lawn Fawn’s Yeti ink. Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day, and Happy Crafting!
Hello! Today I’m thrilled to be guest designing for Taylored Expressions and their October Release! Today we’re featuring the new stamp set, Sleigh Bouquet and it’s coordinating die (it also comes as a set!)! This stamp image is so beautiful – a sleigh full of poinsettas and Christmas decor! I just love it! First I stamped the sleigh image with Copic-friendly ink and colored it with my Copics. Then after I die cut it I decided I wanted some dimension; so I stamped it 2 more times and colored 2 of the flowers again, cut them out, and mounted them on the first image with Foam Square Adhesives. For the berries, I added a small white dot of white ink with my white gel pen to each berry, then a small drop of Glossy Accents to each one. When I was all done with the main image, I die cut the sleigh’s shape again out of a piece of foam adhesive, and applied the image to the foam so it would “pop” from the card. The white trees background is created using the Seasonal Trees steel die. For the blue sky, I applied 3 Distress inks (Stormy Sky, Blueprint Sketch, & Black Soot) onto watercolor cardstock with my Mini Ink Blending Tool. I added a snowy texture to the white card base with the Snowfall Embossing Folder. My final touch for the scene was gluing sequins from the Snow Flurries Sequins in the background. For the inside of the card, I stamped the sentiment, then stamped the main image and colored the flowers I wanted, cut them out, and glued them down. Thank you so much for joining me today! Make sure to head over to the TE blog for more inspiration!
I just LOVE giving Halloween cards to my co-workers, but this year I decided to do something different – Coffins! I figured this way, I could also add a little something into the coffins, like some candy. I did this project using way-too-fun Taylored Expresions products! The base of this project (the coffins) is easily created because it’s already die cut and scored for you; they come in a set of 10, and it’s called Coffin Treat Boxes! I found that when assembling these coffins, what worked best to keep them “put together” was first applying clear adhesive dots on the flaps, then a spot of glue. The black coffin-shaped-scenes for the top are from the From the Crypt – Haunted die set. The little headstones and ghosts on the “Boo to You” coffins are dies from the Haunted Accessories Die Set. The vampire and the mummy are from the Mums the Word Stamp & Die set, and they are colored with Copic markers. The coffin shapes that I have the sentiments on are doe cut using a die from the Label Stacklets 11 Die Set. And last but not least, the patterned paper is from the 6×6 Playful Patterns – Haunted Paper Pack! Thank you for stopping by! Have a great weekend, and Happy Halloween Crafting!
I have a cute birthday card featuring Lawn Fawn, for the DriveByCrafts blog today! I’ve always wanted the Plane and Simple stamp set, and I finally got it this month! I think the airplanes are so adorable! I decided to make it a birthday card with the plane pulling the banner (and you can put different sentiments in the banner – I love it!). The die I used to create the houses at the bottom is called Village Border. I die cut it out, then chose subtle Copic colors to color the different buildings and trees. I used a piece of paper from the Perfectly Plaid collection for the background base. Thank you so much for stopping by, and have a great weekend!
When I saw this stamp set by Neat & Tangled in the Drive By Crafts store, I just knew I had to have it; it’s their new Merry Kisses stamp set, and I can’t get enough of these pretty foxes hugging eachother! Then, the flying bird and the mistletoe?! So perfect for a holiday card! I stamped the all the images on my paper with Copic-friendly black ink, then stamped them again onto masking paper (Post-It notes work good, too), and cut out the images. I covered up my stamped images on my final project sheet wuith my cut out stamped images, and took out my Distress Inks to create the background. When I was done inking the background, I then took out a snow stencil and covered my stamped & background-colored sheet of paper with it, and applied embossing paste to creae the snowy background. Then, it was time to remove the masking and reveal the images beneath (I love doing that part!); they were untouched and ready to color (which I did with Copics)! Then I applied the red frame around the scene to pull it all together. I was very pleased with the result! My final step was stamping the rest of the sentiment on the inside of the card. Thank you for stopping by! Head on over to the Drive By Crafts blog for more inspirstion, and their store for the latest and greatest products! Be sure to check out their Clearance Section, too; right now it’s 40% off!
Happy Wednesday! Today I’m using “old” to show off the “new” for Drive By Crafts!! All the stamp sets on these mini cards are older Lawn Fawn sets, but they look GREAT with Lawn Fawn’s new paper pad, Knock on Wood! These cards are 4 1/2″ square. All the stamps and all the dies I used are Lawn Fawn. The background skies were put on Ranger Watercolor Paper using Tumbled Glass Distress Ink and a Mini Ink Blending Tool. The colored images are colored with Copic markers. Thank you so much for stopping by! You can find these products that I used at the Drive By Crafts store!
Hello, Crafters! Today I have a Halloween card, and I had fun using stamp sets that really aren’t for Halloween! Well, the new sentiment set is, but the cute trick-or-treaters are from the Ahoy, Matey set, and the black kitty is from Bicycle Built for You! The sentiment is from the new Happy Happy Happy Add-on stamp set and coordinating die set. The orange scalloped frame and the brown scalloped frame are die cut with papers from the new Knock on Wood paper pack. The sky is created by rubbing Wilted Violet Distress Oxide ink and Broken China Distress Oxide ink onto watercolor paper with my Mini Ink Blending Tool. Then I stamped the stars with Lawn Fawn’s Yeti ink and poured their new White Embossing Powder over them, then heat embossed them. And I could not forget my trusty stamp shammy to help me keep my stamps clean in between all the stamping! Thank you for stopping by; have a great day, and happy crafting!
The new Lawn Fawn For You, Deer products are totally adorable, and I’m featuring them today for DriveByCrafts! I am going to make a bunch of these bookmarks and hand them out to my coworkers for the holidays! Of course, these could also be gift tags if you use one of the other great sentiments in the stamp set. The adorable papers are from the new Lawn Fawn Knit Picky Petite Paper Pack. I colored the images with Copic markers. Aren’t the sentiments just so cute?! I absolutely love that this set has the animals’ back sides so that the backs of the bookmarks (or tags) are just as cute as the front! Have great weekend, and Happy Crafting!
Hello and Happy Monday; I’m here for the DriveByCrafts blog today! I have always loved the Best Buds stamp set by Paper Smooches; so I was so happy when they came out with the coordinating die set for it! My card today is, of course, featuring that pretty set. First, I stamped the main images in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and colored them with my Copic markers. I then die cut them out with their coordinating dies. For the background, I stamped the images with Lawn Fawn’s Manatee ink, and then colored them with very light colored Copics. After mounting the main images on the card, I added some Marshmallow colored sequins, and painted Zig Clear Wink of Stella on the banner. Hope you like! Have a great day, and a wonderful week!
Happy August 1st! Wow, I can not believe we’re starting August; time flies! I have 3 cards for you today that feature MFT’s cute stamp set & die set, Springtime Critters, for the DriveByCrafts blog! The first card is 4″ square, and the 2 smaller ones are 3 1/4″ square. The white frames are cut from MFT’s Stitched Square Scallop Edge Frames Die-namics set; we have a similar die set in the shop – MFT’s Stitched Square Scalloped Frames Die-namics. I colored the images with Copic markers. The background paper is an older set by Ken Oliver, the 6″x6″ Color Burst Splash paper collection. The grass in all 3 cards is die cut using the shorter grass die from MFT’s Grassy Fields Die-namics set. On the next card, the small butterflies are from MFT’s Once Upon a Time stamp set and Die-namics set. The fence is MFT’s Farm Fence Die-namics set. I painted Zig Clear Wink of Stella on all the butterlies on all 3 cards for a bit of sparkle. These cards were easy to make, and will be great to have on hand! Thanks for dropping by, have a good week, and Happy Crafting! ~Valerie
If you’re looking for a cute, interactive birthday card, here is your answer! The Lawn Fawn Magic Color Slider is just too fun! I made a belated birthday card featuring the Lawn Fawn Hang in There stamp set and coordinating die set. Isn’t that fun?! I added a bunch of colorful Pretty Pink Posh 4mm cupped sequions to the frame around the image; you can see the specific colors I used in the Supply List below. Now I need to make a bunch more of these belated birthday cards because I’m always late getting my cards out! LOL 🙂 Have a great day, and thank you for stopping by!
I was in a Holiday Cards mood the other day! That, and the fact that I’ve had this Altenew set for so long and haven’t used it yet. So I pulled it out and got to playing! The Altenew Winter Cardinal stamp set and coordinating die set (they come as a bundle, too) create such a beautiful image, and they’re so easy to use! The first layer of the bird image is stamped with Altenew’s Blush ink. The 2nd layer is Altenew’s Rouge ink. For the 3rd laye, first I tried is Altenew’s Velvet ink; it didn’t have enough contrast for me, so I switched over to their Lava Rock color. The tree branch is Altenew’s Dark Chocolate ink, and the berries are Altenew’s Crimson ink. For the background sky, I applied Tumbled Glass Distress Ink with my Round Mini Ink Blending Tool, then I placed my Falling Snow Stencil over the paper, and applied White Embossing Paste over the entire stencil with my palette knife. The final touches were adding Glossy Accents on the berries, and Pretty Pink Posh Cupped 4mm Marshmallow sequins in the sky. Thank you for stopping by! Have a great week!
Hello there, crafters! Today I’m crafting and blogging for DriveByCrafts (store here)! The feature today is Avery Elle and their fun Glamper Campers stamp set and coordinating die set! And the pretty scalloped frames are all from the Avery Elle Scalloped Pierced Rectangles Elle-ments die set. All of the images are colored with Copic markers. The background sky is created using Tumbled Glass Distress Ink; I have a paper cloud template and all I do is swipe the ink onto the watercolor paper with my Mini Ink Blending Tool. Have a wonderful July 4th tomorrow, and stay safe! One last thing… there’s a great sale going on over at DriveByCrafts; don’t miss out!
Hi! Thanks for stopping by! Today I have a Condolences card for you, featuring Avery Elle’s Banner & Wreath stamp set and coordinating Ellements set. It’s the perfect set to have on hand because the many sentiments it has all address a bunch of different occasions (wedding, condolences, thank you, birthday, anniversary). I stamped the floral images, the birds, the sentiment, and the banner in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and then colored them with my Copic Sketch markers. The brown straw wreath in the background is stamped with Lawn Fawns Walnut ink. I pulled out a trusty older Lawn Fawn die set, Stitched Borders, to create the stitch lines around the perimeter. And the scallops are done using Lawn Fawn’s Scalloped Rectangle die set. The final touch was adding a few Pretty Pink Posh Marshmallow 4mm cupped sequins. Thanks a bunch for stopping by! Have a great weekend, and Happy Crafting!
