Thursday Cuppa Joe

Hi Crafters! This was supposed to go up yesterday (on Thursday), but I realized when I was at work, that I had never written the post – UGH! So, it’s a day late; oh well!    So… here’s my Thursday Cuppa Joe post over on the Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog, a day late! LOL 😉

The set I’m working with today is actually from a company that is now closed. I didn’t know that until I went to make my Supply List for the post! The company was called Fresh Squeezed Stamps

Fresh Squeezed Stamps stamps, Pretty Pink Posh die and sequins, Lawn Fawn ink & dies, Prima paper, Copics {ValByDesign, 2016} I used my newest pride & joy from Pretty Pink Posh, their new Scalloped Squares die! And Lawn Fawn’s Large and Small Stitched Square die sets worked perfectly with the scalloped die.

Fresh Squeezed Stamps stamps, Pretty Pink Posh die and sequins, Lawn Fawn ink & dies, Prima paper, Copics {ValByDesign, 2016} All the pretty papers are from Prima’s 6×6 Sunkissed paper pad. The sequins are Pretty Pink Posh’s 6mm Cupped Marshmallow and 4mm Cupped Sand.

Your Next Stamp: Design Team Dare!

Your Next Stamp

The Your Next Stamp Design Team Dare is today, and the Dare is to Use Something Old and Something New!

For the “New”, the stamp set I’m using on this card is new to me (Word Critters – Spring Birds, and the coordinating die set); it was out-of-stock when I first discovered it in the YNS Store, and I wanted it so badly that I got put on the list to be notified when it came back in stock. As soon as I received the e-mail that it was back in, I ordered it and the coordinating die set imediately!

Your Next Stamp stamps & dies, Doodlebug paper, Copics {ValByDesign, 2016} And for the “Old”, I pulled out a very old and extremely well-used paper pad: Doodlebug’s Hello Spring collection; I love it so much that I will continue to use it until every last square inch is gone!

Your Next Stamp stamps & dies, Doodlebug paper, Copics {ValByDesign, 2016} I colored the images with Copics. And I used my Zig Wink of Stella Glitter Brush on the bird’s pink bow, and on the SPRING block letters.

Your Next Stamp stamps & dies, Doodlebug paper, Copics {ValByDesign, 2016} It might be a tad early for this “Spring” card, but that’s OK. It reminds me that Spring WILL be here before we know it!

Thank you for stopping by, and make sure to head over to the YNS blog to see what the other designers are working with today!

Thursday Cuppa Joe

Happy New Years Eve! I can’t believe we’re wrapping up 2015!

It’s time for Thursday Cuppa Joe over at the Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog, and I made a fun New Year’s card! I’m using mostly Paper Smooches (PS), with some help from Lawn Fawn (LF) and various inks!

I started out by stamping the balloons from the PS Birthday Bash stamp set onto X-Press IT Blending Card Paper (die cut with the largets die from LF’s Small Stitched Rectangle Stackables die set) with Memento Tuxedo Black ink; then I colored them with Copics. I then stamped all the confetti with various inks: Memento London Fog, Lawn Fawn’s Sunflower, VersaFine Onyx Black.

Paper Smooches stamps & dies, Lawn Fawn dies & ink, Copics {ValByDesign, 2015} The PS Hot Concoctions stamp set has the coffee cup image, and I stamped it once, and I stamped it a second time using a mirror stamping image technique; I found a good little video by Rachel Kleinman to show you the easy process:

I colored the cups with Copics; then I stamped the numbers from the PS Alphadot stamp set with Hero Arts Silver Shadow ink. I die cut the black glitter paper with a die from LF’s Scalloped Rectangle Stackables die set. I painted all the colored balloons with my Zig Clear Wink of Stella Brush Glitter Pen Marker.

Paper Smooches stamps & dies, Lawn Fawn dies & ink, Copics {ValByDesign, 2015} I then stamped the sentiment with “happy” from the PS Sentiment Sampler stamp set using VersaFine Onyx Black, and “New Year” from letters in the PS Alphadot stamp set and Lawn Fawn’s Lobster ink. I die cut the silver frame from silver glitter paper and the longer die from the PS Bookplates die set; then I cut the frame shape again out of white foam, and glued them together for thickness.

Thanks a Latte

Hello and Happy Almost-New-Year! Seriously? 2015 is almost over? Wow, it’s been a wonderful year for me, and the perfect way to finish the year is to announce that I am now officially employed! I am now working in a children’s dentist office (the one all 4 of my kids have been going to for 16 years!) training to be the Office Coordinator; I am super duper excited!

HOWEVER, with that wonderful news comes some sad news. I will be leaving some of my design teams now, and unfortunately, DeNami Design is one of them. I have worked for DeNami  for 6 months now, and it’s been a wonderful 6 months and a great team to work with! I will definitely miss the adorable images Nami designs! Hopefully I will find the time to work with them occassionally, though!

OK, so now on to the card I designed for today! I made a Thank You Coffee Card!

I started by stamping the Whimsical Wreath stamp all over my X-Press It Blending Card Paper with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. Then I stamped the coffee cups from the Cafe Clear Stamp Set in each of the wreaths. I colored all the images with Copic Sketch Markers. After coloring the cups, I stamped the smiley face and the hearts onto the cups with VersaFine Onyx Black Pigment Ink.

DeNami Design stamps {ValByDesign, 2015} I took out some vellum, trimmed it down, and stamped the dotted lines from the Basic Borders set, and the Thanks a Latte sentiment, with Memento Rich Cocoa ink. Then I quickly poured ZING! Opaque Chestnut embossing powder over the stamped images and heat embossed them.

DeNami Design stamps {ValByDesign, 2015} I adhered the vellum to the X-Press It paper with my Crafter’s Companion adhesive; it’s awesome – you can’t see it! The final touches wer painting the coffee mugs with my Zig Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Pen Marker, and adhering the X-Press It Paper to a piece of Peanut Fudge Bazzill Cardstock.

DeNami Design stamps {ValByDesign, 2015} Hope you enjoyed and got some inspiration! Have a wonderful day, and Happy New Year, and HAPPY CRAFTING!

Valerie W.

Welcome

Hello! Wow, it’s been awhile since I posted because of the holidays! It’s good to be “back” 🙂

Today I’m over on the MarkerPOP! blog, and I have some Paper Smooches for you! I’m mixing old with new on this one. I started by using the gorgeous new die, Adorable Array. I die cut the shape into the white cardstock base to create an opening; then I glued a piece of white paper onto the inside of the card behind the opening so that I could glue the pieces onto it and it would be flush with the card front.

Paper Smooches stamps & dies, Carta Bella paper, Pretty Pink Posh Clear Droplets, Copics {ValByDesign, 2015} I then diecut the shape again out of X-Press It Blending Card Paper, and colored all the little pieces with my Copic markers:

  • Big Bee: Y11, Y13, Y15, Y17 / BG0000
  • Little Bee: Y32, Y35, Y38 / BG0000
  • Ladybug: R22, R14, R17
  • Leaves: YG03, YG07, YG09 / G12, G14, G16 / YG61, YG63, YG67 / G21, G94, G99
  • Blue Flower: BG01, BG02 / Y02, Y06
  • Flower: RV21, Rv23, RV25 / Y08 / YR04, YR07
Paper Smooches stamps & dies, Carta Bella paper, Pretty Pink Posh Clear Droplets, Copics {ValByDesign, 2015} After coloring the flowers, I die cut the Adorable Array again from black cardstock, and glued it on top of the whole image. The Welcome sentiment is die cut from the Paper Smooches Welcome Word Die out of paper from the Carta Bella 6×6 Baby Mine Boy collection

Paper Smooches stamps & dies, Carta Bella paper, Pretty Pink Posh Clear Droplets, Copics {ValByDesign, 2015} I added Pretty Pink Posh 4mm and 6mm Clear Droplets, and painted the bees’ wings and the heart on the ladybug with my Zig Clear Wink of Stealla Brush Glitter Pen Marker. And that was it!

Thank you for stopping by today. Have a wonderful New Years Week, and Happy Crafting!
